Enhancing employability of accounting graduates in Uganda and Nigeria by Integrating Employability Skills into Accounting Education using Work-Integrated Learning Approach (DESIRED).

ASAMU Career Launch Pad

The Accounting Students Association of Makerere University (ASAMU) will host the Career Launchpad on 25th March 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the MUBS ADB Theatre 2.

This event is designed to support accounting students as they prepare for the transition from university to the professional world. It will bring together experienced industry professionals to provide practical guidance on CV writing, interview preparation, professional certification pathways, and broader career development insights.

Through interactive sessions and hands-on engagement, students will gain valuable knowledge and workplace readiness skills needed to navigate today’s competitive job market with greater confidence.

The Career Launchpad is open to all accounting students who wish to strengthen their employability and better prepare for the realities of the work environment.

This initiative strongly reflects the purpose of the DESIRED Project, which seeks to align accounting education with labour market needs by integrating employability skills into accounting training through Work-Integrated Learning approaches. The project is designed to help students build professional identity, workplace competencies, and career readiness for improved employability.
