Project Overview

DESIRED Project Coordinator Prof Samuel Sejjaaka of MAT Abacus Business School gives an overview of the project, its outcomes and impact on accounting graduates. He highlights a gap in the practical skills of accounting graduates. The project will enhance these skills through practical training, hands-on field experience, industry placements and integrating work-integrated learning into the training curricula.

The Desired Project

The DESIRED Project is an the EU-funded initiative transforming accounting education in Uganda and Nigeria. By integrating Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) into university curricula, the project bridges the gap between theory and practice, equipping graduates with practical skills, industry exposure, and enhanced employability for today’s dynamic labour market.
