On 14th May 2026, MAT ABACUS Business School hosted the 8th Cohort CFO Leadership Academy Graduation and the launch of the 9th Cohort at Four Points by Sheraton, Kololo, Kampala. The event brought together graduating participants, newly admitted students, facilitators, mentors and professionals from different sectors of the economy.
The CFO Leadership Academy is designed to train, mentor and model managers into effective financial leaders within their organisations. The programme equips participants with practical leadership skills, strategic financial management knowledge and the professional confidence required to take up senior finance and executive roles.
During the event, Mrs. Viola Muhumuza highlighted the importance of supporting the DESIRED Project through mentorship, placement and internship opportunities, professional training and industry exposure for accounting students. She noted that such support is important in preparing students for the realities of the workplace and helps them make the connection between academic learning and industry practice.
The engagement between the CFO Leadership Academy and the DESIRED Project presents an important opportunity to enhance the employability of accounting students. Through mentorship from experienced finance professionals.
